Which western food does Canada really need?

By KEVIN DELLERON-BROWNPosted November 07, 2017 05:32:11The Canadian government’s recent food strategy, which included the elimination of dairy, meat and eggs as key components of the country’s diet, is a good start, says David Coggin, executive director of the Canadian Food Institute, an organization dedicated to promoting healthy eating.

However, he says that the government is still struggling to make a dent in Canada’s obesity problem.

According to a new study, Canadians are currently eating more calories than they need to and the majority of Canadians have not been eating more than they are supposed to, he told CBC News.

According the study, published this week in the Canadian Medical Association Journal, about 11 per cent of Canadians currently have an excessive amount of sugar in their diets, which means they have a higher risk of diabetes, heart disease and obesity.

It also found that Canadians who consume more than 10 grams of sugar per day have a greater risk of type 2 diabetes, which affects more than half a million Canadians.

The study also found the number of Canadians who reported eating more food than they should each day was at a 17-year high.

Coggin said the results were a clear indication of the government’s failure to deliver on its commitments to combat the countrys obesity problem, and the report calls for further action.

Cogs said the report also points out the importance of introducing more plant-based foods to Canada’s diet.

He said the study found that people who consume fewer calories are also less likely to smoke, drink and binge on alcohol.

Cogging said the government must take a more holistic approach to diet.

“They need to do a lot more to educate Canadians on the importance and the potential impact of diet and lifestyle on their health,” he said.

“This is an opportunity for the government to be more strategic and to really look at what the health effects of their dietary choices are and what we can do to change them.”

While it may sound like a simple change, Coglin said there are other important things that can be done to address the issue of obesity.

“If you’re in a bad car crash, your body can still respond,” he explained.

“What happens is that the car breaks down and you have to have a new one or a new car.

If you have a family that has a lot of kids, then the children are going to have to go back to school and have to stay at home more often.”

So, you need to change how you are doing things and you need a plan in place.

You can’t just go to a restaurant and eat a sandwich and go to the bathroom.

That’s not going to work.
